This Privacy Policy explains what information AUM ("the App"), built by Amit Nivedan Kalra ("we," "our," "us"), collects and how it's used. By using AUM you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Information we do not collect
- AUM has no sign-up, login, or user account of any kind. We have no way to identify you personally.
- We do not run any analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDK.
- We do not show ads and do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or location.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers.
2. What stays entirely on your device
The core of AUM — the part you spend the most time in — never talks to a server:
- Your music library. With your permission, AUM reads your Apple Music library (via Apple's MPMediaLibrary) so you can browse and play your own songs. That data is read locally and is never uploaded anywhere.
- Imported songs and subliminal audio files. Any audio file you import — including your own voice recordings — is copied into the App's local storage on your device only. We never see or transmit this content.
- Frequency, preset, and overlay settings. Stored locally so the App remembers your preferences.
- Ask AUM. The "describe how you want to feel" recommendation feature runs entirely on-device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). What you type is processed on your phone and is never sent to us or to Apple's servers.
- CarPlay, Siri Shortcuts, Live Activities, and the Lock Screen / Dynamic Island controls. These all operate locally through Apple's system frameworks and don't transmit data to us.
3. Microphone & song recognition (ShazamKit)
If you use AUM's "what's playing" feature to identify a song around you, the App briefly uses your microphone and Apple's ShazamKit to generate an audio fingerprint and match it against Apple's song catalog. That audio is processed by Apple for the purpose of returning a match — it is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours, and we never receive or store the recorded audio ourselves. You can decline microphone access and AUM will work normally without this feature.
4. Subscriptions & purchases (RevenueCat)
AUM offers an optional "Aum Pro" subscription. All payment is handled directly by Apple through the App Store — we never see or collect your payment card details. To manage entitlements (so Pro features unlock correctly across your devices) we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous RevenueCat-generated user ID, your purchase/transaction and receipt data, and basic device and app information (device type, OS version, app version). This data is used solely to verify and sync your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
5. Affiliate attribution (GoMarketMe)
AUM uses GoMarketMe, an affiliate-attribution service, to sync purchase/transaction events so that creators who refer users to AUM can be credited and paid a commission. This involves sharing transaction data (not your payment details, which stay with Apple) with GoMarketMe for attribution purposes only. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.
6. Data we share, summarized
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit): processes all payments directly; governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Apple (ShazamKit): brief microphone audio, only if you use song recognition, for matching purposes.
- RevenueCat: anonymous ID, purchase/transaction data, basic device info — to manage your subscription.
- GoMarketMe: purchase/transaction data — for affiliate commission attribution only.
That's the complete list. Nothing else leaves your device.
7. Data retention
Because we don't operate accounts or our own backend, we don't hold a retrospective database of your activity. RevenueCat and GoMarketMe retain data per their own retention policies, which you can review on their respective privacy pages. Content stored on your device (imported songs, subliminals, settings) stays there until you delete the App or the files yourself.
8. Your rights
Because AUM doesn't identify you or hold an account tied to your identity, most data-subject requests (access, correction, deletion, portability) are already satisfied by the fact that your content lives on your own device — you can view, export, or delete it at any time directly in the App, or by deleting the App itself.
For the limited data processed by RevenueCat or GoMarketMe, you can request information or deletion by contacting us at the email below, and we'll pass along verifiable requests to those providers. If you're in the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you have the rights afforded under GDPR or the CCPA respectively (access, deletion, correction, and objection to processing); we'll honor verifiable requests within 30 days.
9. Health & wellness disclaimer
AUM's frequencies, binaural beats, and subliminal audio features are offered for personal, recreational use. They are not medical devices, are not clinically validated treatments, and nothing in the App or this policy should be read as medical advice. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
10. Children's privacy
AUM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App has no accounts and collects no personal identifiers, this risk is inherently limited. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll address it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes — for example, if we add or remove a third-party SDK. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of AUM after a change is posted means you accept the update.
